Jeremy Biles holds a Ph.D. in Religion and Literature
from the University of Chicago Divinity School. His research on
monster trucks is part of a larger project, tentatively entitled
Pursuing the American Preposterous: Religion, Reality, Politics,
and Pop Culture, that will explore postmodern belief-making
practices, with studies of such phenomena as professional wrestling,
political rhetoric, reality television, and UFO cults.
